What We Offer

GWH Percussion Studio offers specialized private instruction on modern drum set technique.  Lesson programs are unique to each student and specifically tailored to meet their particular needs and goals.  Lesson material will expose the student to a variety of styles, such as:  Rock, Pop, Country, Jazz, and Latin, in an effort to produce a versatile, well-rounded player.

Topics covered include:
a) reading drum set notation, b) arm, wrist, and finger control with extensive focus on rudiments, c) drum set beats and fills with three and four limb coordination, d) time-keeping, playing to a “click” and subdividing the “pulse”, e) odd-time signatures and polyrhythms, f) “feel”, “groove”, and playing along with music, g) song structure and creating a drum part, h) attitude, musicianship, being involved in a band and the music business in general. 

The learning environment created at GWH Percussion Studio is at once fun, supportive and relaxed while being structured and motivating.  The lesson experience is further enhanced by utilizing the latest in acoustic and electronic percussion gear in our state-of-the-art studio.
